Faculty/Staff Bios - Dennis W. Jeffers
Dennis W. Jeffers is a professor in the Department of Journalism at Central Michigan University. His major teaching areas are primarily related to mass communication and society issues. However, he also has also taught in the public relations, advertising and marketing communication areas. From January 1993 to January l998 he served in several senior officer administrative positions at CMU, all of which were designed to foster partnerships with university and national/international organizations. He is the co-author of the casebook Social, Political and Economic Contexts of Public Relations, as well as the author or co-author of 45 journal articles, research papers and presentations. Also, he is the recipient of several research grants and has served as a consultant to organizations in public relations, telecommunications, agriculture, healthcare, publishing and higher education. Jeffers received his Ph.D. in Mass Communications from Ohio University in l976 and taught at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale until the fall of l979. He then joined the faculty at Central Michigan University.
