Biggest accomplishment at CMU:
“Learning to set my eyes on something that seems unachievable and disregarding self-doubt.”
Internships:
“Without a doubt, interning at the “China Daily” was one of the biggest challenges and therefore the best learning tools of my life. It showed me how little I really knew about the world while providing me with the path to find out.”
What he does to be competitive in his field:
“One thing that really built up my writing ability was taking the extra time to sit with my editors as they chopped up my articles. It helped me learn to take criticism and realize my mistakes.”
Dream career:
“It may sound old fashioned, but I am in love with radio journalism. Working for NPR or the BBC would suit me just fine.”
Suggestion to students interested in the journalism program:
“Be active in getting to know those around you and maintaining relationships. You never know when someone else’s expertise may come in handy.”
